San Diego offers a unique opportunity for scientists and engineers to explore a wide range of research fields. The Science Park environment with world class research centers including TSRI, Salk, UCSD, Burnham and LIAI focuses on cutting edge research in biology, chemistry and its related fields. Recently, the community of Korean scientists working in those centers has grown significantly. The Science Park has created a springboard for advanced research in Korea and the US and is providing a large impact in its scientific and industrial landscape. This trend continues to build up in particular into interdisciplinary areas that provide new exciting research directions and San Diego continues to provide the infrastructure to grow.

Goals & Opportunity

The goal of this symposium is to bring together Korean scientists and engineers to learn from each other, to grasp an understanding of the diverse research endeavors, and to establish a strong network amongst Koreans giving rise to new opportunities ahead. This symposium allows us to get a taste of the diversity offered by Korean scientists and to strengthen our relationship with each other professionally and personally.
